Psychological Assessment
Autism Spectrum Conditions
- At CPSA, we offer Autism assessments for children, adolescents and adults. In our comprehensive Autism assessments, we use both the SRS-2 and MIGDAS-2 to give a thorough and personalized evaluation.
- The SRS-2 (Social Responsiveness Scale, 2nd Edition) provides a way to measure social skills. It evaluates behaviors commonly linked to ASD. This helps offer a clear picture of how an individual interacts with others. It’s a questionnaire completed by parents, teachers, or the individual themselves.
- The MIGDAS-2 (Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum) takes a more interactive approach. It observes communication style, sensory preferences, and behavior in a comfortable, natural setting. This allows our clinicians to gather deeper insights into the individual’s unique strengths and challenges.
- Together, these tools offer a well-rounded and detailed understanding, helping us create tailored support plans. Our clinicians have extensive experience with the SRS-2. They are also skilled with the MIGDAS-2. This ensures that each assessment is precise. It is respectful and comprehensive.
Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- We offer comprehensive ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults using the Conners 4, BRIEF 2 and DIVA-5 tools.
- The Conners 4 is a questionnaire that measures attention, behaviour, and emotional symptoms, completed by parents, teachers, or the individual.
- The BRIEF 2 (Behaviour Rating Inventory of Executive Function) assesses everyday skills like planning, organizing, and self-control.
- The DIVA-5 is a structured interview. It looks at ADHD symptoms in both childhood and adulthood. This helps to identify patterns of inattention and hyperactivity.
- These tools offer a full understanding of how ADHD affects daily life. They allow our experienced clinicians to create personalized support plans for each age group.
Cognitive and Learning Assessments
- We use a range of assessments. These include the WAIS, WISC, WPPSI, WIAT, and ABAS-3. They offer comprehensive cognitive and learning evaluations for individuals of all ages.
- The WAIS-IV (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale 4th Edition) and WISC-V (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children 5th Edition) assess cognitive abilities. These abilities include reasoning, memory, and problem-solving in adults and children.
- The WPPSI-IV (Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence 4th Edition) assesses cognitive development in younger children. It offers insights into early learning strengths and challenges.
- The WIAT-III (Wechsler Individual Achievement Test 3rd Edition) evaluates academic skills. These include reading, writing, and math. This helps us understand any learning difficulties.
- The ABAS-3 (Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System) measures practical, everyday skills. These include communication and self-care. The assessment evaluates how well individuals manage daily tasks.
- By using these tools together, our clinicians can gain a detailed understanding of cognitive abilities. They can also find learning strengths and areas for support. This understanding helps us tailor intervention plans to each individual’s needs.
